PCaW welcomes new Chair

19th July 2017

Public Concern at Work has announced the appointment of Paul Boyle, OBE, as its new Chairman.

Mr Boyle is currently President of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors in the UK and Ireland, and was the first Chief Executive of the Financial Reporting Council and Chief Operating Officer of the Financial Services Authority. He was also the Chief Internal Auditor Officer at Aviva plc.

"I am delighted to be joining PCaW as Chair at what is an exciting time for the charity as it approaches its 25th anniversary next year. I believe strongly in whistleblowing and the work of PCaW and believe there should be more of both” he said.

Mr Boyle replaces Carol Sergeant, former chief risk officer of Lloyds Bank, who stands down as Chair at PCaW after five years.

Chief Executive of Public Concern at Work, Cathy James, OBE, said, ‘‘I would like to pay tribute to the enormous contribution Carol has made. Her passion and formidable leadership qualities has been fantastic for the charity, particularly her help with our work with the financial services sector. We hope to keep Carol within the PCaW family and she retains a role on our Advisory Council.

She added, "I’d like to welcome Paul and both the Trustees and the PCaW team look forward to working with him to help make a real impact on whistleblowing culture."
